Letter I wrote to you August 2011

11 months

Dear Lola,

Lola, you are certainly one blessed little babe. Over the past eleven months you have been showered with love, hugs & kisses from your beloved Oma, Grandpa, Omi, Opi, Omama, Opapa, Au Oma, Au Opa, Great Nanna, Great Poppy, Great Nan & Great Grandpa! That’s twelve grandparents sweet girl. To be surrounded by so much love you may think one may burst? No, not you my dear. You adore each and every one of your grandparents, unwrapping your arms from around me & holding them out to receive a cuddle from what you consider to be some of the most precious ones in your life.

Letter I wrote to you July 2011

10 months
Dear Lola,

Lola loves:

Gently touching mama and papas eyelashes as we snuggle up together.
Sitting by the back door watching Bell in the backyard.
Sleeping spread out like a starfish.
Buttons & drawers.
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.
Picking magnets off the fridge.
Cheersing your food & drink.
Being sung “Galoomp Went the Little Green Frog.”
Jolly jumping.
Your big family.
Auntie Jules.
Standing up unassisted.
Twiddling your fingers.
Whispering when spotting birds in the garden.
Laughing hysterically when getting undressed for your evening bath.

Letter I wrote to you June 2011

9 months
Dear Lola,

I wake up to murmurs and sweet chatting from your bedroom. Making porridge for three. Finding spotty tights to warm your chubby legs. Tickling your toes and under your chin. Dancing with you. Taking you to feed the ducks. Watching you clap. Hearing you sing.  Taking your photo.  Laughing at your laugh. Reading ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’. Kissing you goodnight. Breathing you in. Marvelling. Adoring. Looking forward to many tomorrows with you over our rainbow.

Letter I wrote to you May 2011

Dear Lola,

I adore.

I adore the sleepy, quiet morning hush we share.
I adore sleeping nose to nose with you, your hands resting on my cheeks.
I adore our tea parties and the secrets that are whispered.
I adore watching you eat sweet potato and avocado.
I adore the curl that sits at the front of your head.
I adore waking up to realise all over again that I am your mama.
I adore when you reach your arms up to be picked up & cuddled.
I adore that if you sneeze two times it will always make you smile.
I adore your rosy cheeks.
I adore the way you look at your papa when he walks into the room.
I adore you – every little bit of you.

Letter I wrote to you April 2011

Dear Lola,
The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."
Alice In Wonderland

Darlingheart, you don’t mind in the slightest if you are wearing two odd shoes.

My sweet girl, you hold your arms out for a cuddle to strangers passing us on the escalator.

Bella-boo, you believe avocado tastes better if smeared all over your face first.

Precious pea-pod, when I pick you up out of bed you greet your chair, lamp & curtains with a wave.

Bubbaloo, if your hat falls over your eyes you sit in silence, completely unconcerned.

Gorgeous one, you are able to fall fast asleep with the hiccups & your dummy upside down.

Missy-moo, you consider Bell the German Shepherd to be one of your dearest friends.

You are my innocent, imaginative, inquisitive little angel face & you render me speechless each and every single day.
